Everest8848 Beat Empire CC by 18 Runs- FCA DIV3 |
Home team Everest8848 registered its maiden victory in FCA
League DIV3, 2016. Empire CC won the toss and elected to bowl in a moist,
breezy playing condition. Captain Arun(15) and Krishna(19) opened the innings
for E8848 hammering some classical
strokes. However their charm couldn’t last long and Arun got prey to Aryan’s LBW ball. Despite the chilly weather, the glazes of sun
however energized Everestian batsmen triggering the ball all over the
fences. Bibek(25) and Kismat(17) played
sensibly trying to toggle up the innings
until Uday got Bibek bowled. E8848 mid/low
order batters once again failed to cement a decent total. Yet again, the batsmen returning pavilion steak
continues for E8848, With 95/4 in 17 overs to 141/10 all out in 23.4 overs. Aryan, Sawan and Uday together dismantled
E8488 batting order claiming 2, 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Ravi Kumar the EmpireCC Keeper took 2 Crucial
run outs which shattered E8848 big total projection.
The Empireans batted confidently chasing a low total of 141.
The opening spell of Aayush and Utsab failed to hurdle the Empire openers. A drop catch and 43/0 in 7 overs, Everest almost had lost the momentum, the coin was on the Empire side. Vineet(19) and Ravi(20)
gave a superb opening 50 runs partnership in just 8 overs.
As the batsmen were easily reading the mid pacers, captain Arun Basnet urged Bibek (medium pacer) for a spin spell at 8 th over which ought to be the turning point of the game. The next over Arun risked himself for a spin spell and gives a first breakthrough in 8.3 overs. Empires were 53/1 in 8.3 overs, 88 to win from 21.3 overs with 9 wickets remaining.
The Arun - Bibek spin spell(7-18) turned the coin towards E8848 and kept the match alive, the duo contributed just 42 runs in 11 overs taking 4 crucial wickets (top 4 batsmen). Arun Basnet grabbed 2 wickets conceding 14 runs in his spell of 5 overs while Bibek grabbed 2 wickets in his spell of 6 overs conceding 29 runs.
The Everest moment continues from the other side too. Kismet
and Sachin further strengthen E8848 with their timely superb economic spell. Utsab,
on the other hand was outstanding in the field. Vineet(23) and Tom(11) were smoothly
sailing the Empire's studded batting line up , until the young energetic Utsab send
both of the batsmen to pavilion with his
super fielding, a direct hit run out. Utsabh further took a back foot high
catch. Despite some misfield in the early overs; later E8848 displayed some athletic
fielding. Sachin’s lightening bowling in the 22nd over nearly
yielded him a Hattrick , Uday and Dmitri walked in a duck style to the pavilion.
Kismet finished with the best economy giving 12 runs in his 5 overs spell while
Sachin took 2 wickets in his 4 over spell conceding 22 runs. The Kismet-Sachin
spell of 8 overs (19-26) conceded 27 runs.
Aayush came strong in his second spell. 23 needed for Empire to win from 24 balls with 2 wickets remaining. Aayush delivered a maiden wicket in the death over (27). Dwane with a leg injury was struggling on the crease while Sawan with his fine batting skills still showed a glimpse of hope for Empire cc. Kismet takes the 28th over, Sawan drives the 3rd bowl to the boundary after 2 dot balls, takes a single the next ball and keeps strike . Aayush continuing the 29 th over 18 to win from 12 balls, Sawan on strike. The first delivery smoothly played by Sawan to the third man, no single taken, Sawan still on strike. Sawan attempts for the big shot, ball miles above in the sky, Roshan Deuja runs from the point towards extra cover & long off, and takes an exceptionally extraordinary catch. The celebration begins with the catch, Arun Gewali , the scorer/player/supporter E8848 , runs immediately from the scoring arena to the field to congratulate the team and praises the mind blogging catch .
